I found this video today from Selectism (Mens fashion and lifestyle web site). Soulland is a menswear company from Denmark founded by 23-year-old Silas Adler who is the creative director of Soulland. After a serious knee injury put an end to skateboarding around Copenhagen, Silas founded SOULLAND at the age of 17 as an excuse for not going to school. Since then the company has grown into a serious enterprise. Without any formal education in the field of design Silas has been nominated as Denmark’s best upcoming designer (Danish Fashion Awards) and Scandinavian talent of the year by Swedish Plus46 Awards and has made considerable noise with three consecutive shows at Copenhagen fashion week and received much critical acclaim from the media and the local scene alike. Silas Adler work has also been noticed internationally in cultural magazines and fashion periodicals such as Wad (France), Collezione Sport and Street, The Fader (US), Lowdown (Germany)


AW 2010 - 2011 Collection

I like this new collection of Soulland because it really has Scandinavian taste in minimal design. Collection is inspired by classic workwear, modern streetwear and Scandinavian landscape as you can see from the pr video. The contrasts are similar than here in Finland, Norway and Sweden. I´'m really impressed in Silas Adler's work and international attention. I hope that he will continue his career in fashion scene and achieve more and more recognizability.
